Spring Into Action is our campaign supporting expanded programs and services at Openhouse during the COVID-19 crisis. Beginning with a virtual event, Openhouse was joined by our community members, friends, and even special guest, to share how Openhouse is combating isolation in a time where we are asked to be apart.
To those who were able to join, thank you for helping us kick off Spring Into Action by promoting and attending our virtual event! We are continually amazed and humbled by our communities’ ability to come together–especially in these times of need.
For those unable to attend, that is alright! You can still support our campaign by donating and/or sharing Spring Into Action with others.
A gift to our Spring Into Action campaign supports:
- The purchase of groceries for LGBTQ seniors
- Strengthen Openhouse’s capacity to communicate with LGBTQ seniors experiencing isolation
- Support affordable housing workshops for seniors facing evictions as a result of COVID-19
In the face of COVID-19, our mission has not changed. At the core of Openhouse, we believe in community strengthened by intergenerational connection and we will always fight against distancing and isolation from LGBTQ seniors.

We have multiple needs for volunteers from facilitating discussion and support groups, coordinating events, serving lunches, or administrative tasks such as data entry, capturing demographic data, and more – our volunteers are a big part of our Openhouse community and their efforts make a big impact!
